CBT Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence for the treatment of various psychological disorders including depression, anxiety and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Dr Danilewicz graduated from Oxford University in Cognitive Therapy. Since then, he has mastered his skills and provided therapy for patients in his private practice and in-patient setting.

Dr Danilewicz offers formulation based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which means that the therapy programme is individually tailored to patient’s needs and problems. This is contrary to widely available IAPT interventions which are usually manualised and therefore do not address particular individual needs.

It usually takes 12 weekly sessions to complete the treatment, however depending on individual problems it could be less or more. It is almost impossible to predict how many sessions would be required.

The approximate length of the therapy is established during the initial consultation. Usually, the estimated number of sessions is sufficient to address presenting problems, however during the therapy, the client and the therapist might agree to address some other issues which might take some more time.

It is important to note that the therapy sessions should be scheduled once a week to ensure that the learning is not forgotten in between the sessions.
